The Five Key Focus Areas of the AGCO Agriculture Foundation

As the demand for nutrition and especially protein changes, so are our technical and philanthropic solutions. The AGCO Agriculture Foundation is a testament to AGCO’s commitment to support our farmers feeding the world. Our objective is to develop and expand benevolent initiatives that contribute to global food security, support sustainable agriculture development and have a positive footprint in developing countries.

It’s in AGCO’s corporate nature to focus all efforts with the mechanization and services provided towards food security. The AGCO Agriculture Foundation (AAF) is the company’s new philanthropic arm to support the UN Sustainability Goal “Zero Hunger” and to tackle the challenges we are faced with today to provide basic necessities to a growing world population. The AAF is a separate legal entity within the not for profit industry, and due to AGCO’s agricultural expertise, resources and network, the foundation has a strong advantage to have a maximized impact in our communities.

As a global thought leader and leading agricultural equipment designer, manufacturer and distributor, AGCO’s new foundation demonstrates our company’s strong commitment to end hunger, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. The new approach is that AGCO provides the mechanization and the AAF serves as a separate organization that helps to build the needed infrastructures.

Our 5 Key Focus Areas for the AGCO Agriculture Foundation are as follows:

1. Prevention and Relief of Hunger:

The AGCO Agriculture Foundation’s vision is the holistic approach to the Prevention and Relief of Hunger.

The AAF’s holistic approach to Zero Hunger will be first showcased during next year’s Green Week in Berlin, Germany, where the foundation and AGCO Africa will showcase their digital and philanthropic approach and also promote future endeavors with the Federal Ministry of Economic Development and Cooperation of Germany as part of their “One World Without Hunger” initiative.

2. Advancement of Quality Education, particularly in Agriculture:

AGCO has already been driving change globally, particularly in certain developing markets, by supporting farmer education programs as well as access to innovative mechanization and agricultural projects. The AGCO Agribusiness Qualification Program (AAQ) in APA/Africa and Projecta Pesca in South America/Brazil are just among a few of those groundbreaking educational projects. Together with other non-profit partners and governmental institutions, the foundation is seeking to provide the training and education for sustainable and self-sufficient farming in developing countries and globally.

3. Advancement of Community Development, particularly in Rural Areas:

As an independent organization, the AAF will leverage new partnerships and utilize its networks to develop and advance vital programs that will have a positive direct social, economic and environmental impact on our neighborhoods around the globe. The main objective is to establish non-profit initiatives that have a positive economic impact in particularly developing countries. Again, AGCO provides the mechanization and the foundation serves to help build the needed infrastructures, i.e. clean water & sanitation, responsible production, good health & well-being, equal opportunities for diversified business/social groups and decent work & economic growth in developing markets.

4. Promotion of Animal Welfare and Improved Treatment of Animals in Agriculture Supply Chain:

With a growing world population, the foundation will start the discussion and strategic objectives to address the needed balance between an increased demand for protein and the ethical treatment of animals in our supply chain. The first platform will be at the 2019 AGCO Summit in Berlin with the title “Feeding the World – The Future for Protein.”

“Aglanta”, the latest government initiative with FUSE.

5. Furthermore the goal to advance fundamental CSR initiatives around the globe:

Up to 20% of our philanthropic engagement will go towards AGCO’s outstanding and vital Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) work and diversity of thought. We will work closely with our regions and support their efforts towards the Prevention and Relief of Hunger. The The first CSR project was developed in cooperation with the Fuse team in support of a new governmental initiative in North America “Aglanta” through Smart-farming solutions and local donations.

Through these vital five philanthropic focus areas, the AGCO Agriculture Foundation is committed to enabling farmers to improve agricultural prosperity and self-sufficiency in support of their mission to provide basic necessities to a growing world population.

AGCO and the AAF are looking to build a market niche for maximized impact within all focus areas through carefully selected local, regional and global projects and partners. We are honored to have the opportunity to expand beyond ourselves and improve the livelihood in our communities in ways we have only dreamed of. Today we are able to realize our dream. Today we are committed to something new. Together we can feed the world!
