Golden MF tractor drives 13,000 km in fund-raising expedition to support African school.

On 10 June, a Massey Ferguson tractor will embark on an epic journey, travelling an incredible 13,000 km through 17 European countries in less than two months to raise vital funds for an agricultural school in Chad. Supporters will be able to track the tractor’s every move live on-line thanks to the latest satellite geo-mapping technology.

In this exciting adventure, Massey Ferguson customer, Gianni Brovida and his team-mate, Leonardo Cavazzi will drive a golden MF 7600 tractor in a return trip from Val Bormida in Italy to Cape North in Norway – the most northerly point in mainland Europe, located 71 degrees North – inside the Arctic Circle. Sponsored by Massey Ferguson and with support from tyre manufacturer Trelleborg, the tractor will make its way from Italy through Austria, Slovakia, Poland and the Baltics to Norway and return via Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Belgium and France. Rather than the classic Massey Ferguson red, the MF 7624 model is liveried in striking gold to celebrate the string of top awards the tractor range has achieved since its launch.

To monitor the expedition, Massey Ferguson has equipping the tractor with the advanced AGCOMMAND telemetry-based machine management system which uses satellite technology to collect tractor performance and geo-mapping data enabling its location to be tracked remotely. Followers will be able view all this data live on-line via the Massey Ferguson web site. The expedition team will also be posting regular video diaries and blogs.
