AGCO Finance Employee to Compete in Yacht Race Around the World

AGCO Finance is a Joint Venture between AGCO Corporation and De Lage Landen (DLL). Beginning July 31, 2011 and going through July 2012, DLL will be participating in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. The race track is 40,000 miles long and it will take eleven months to complete the circumnavigation. Fewer people have raced around the world than have climbed Mt. Everest.

The race route will start in the UK and cross the Atlantic Ocean, the South Atlantic, the Southern Ocean, the Java and South China Seas and the Pacific. The race is divided into a series of eight legs and crews can decide to race one of them, select a combination of legs or sign up to become a round the world crew member and complete the full circumnavigation. DLL opened up applications to more than 5500 members worldwide and out of over 160 applicants, one of our Sales Development Representatives, Heather Stephens, is 1 of 9 DLL members awarded a spot on the Clipper Crew. Heather will be an “onboard” crew member and participate in one leg of the voyage. She will be sailing from California, down to Panama, through the canal and north to New York City.
