AGCO’s Beauvais facility in France just celebrated their 50th Anniversary recently.

“A powerhouse of European farm machinery manufacture and design, AGCO’s Beauvais facility in France is celebrating fifty years of Massey Ferguson tractor production at the site, and gearing up for yet further expansion into the next half century.

Employing 2,200 people, the 25ha Beauvais site boasts impressive credentials. It is AGCO’s biggest tractor plant in Europe, the largest tractor manufacturer in France and the country’s top exporter of farm machinery, shipping 85% of production to more than 140 countries. Over 820,000 Massey Ferguson tractors have been built here since the site opened for business on 22 November 1960.

“We are moving ahead strongly at Beauvais,” comments Richard Markwell, Massey Ferguson Vice-President and Managing Director Europe, Africa and Middle East and Président Directeur Général, AGCO S.A. “With 65 million Euros invested at the plant in the last five years alone, further substantial sums are earmarked for still more significant developments in 2011.”

The Beauvais plant is at the forefront of Massey Ferguson’s success, responsible for the design and production of the latest MF 5400, MF 6400, MF 7400 and MF 8600 tractor ranges from 82-370hp. These machines have won a string of top awards including Tractor of the Year four times, a Golden Tractor Design Award and a host of prizes for technical innovation.

“Beauvais is the home of Massey Ferguson tractors in Europe and we are very proud to be celebrating 50 years’ successful operation at the site,” says Richard Markwell. “As farm machinery markets recover from the global recession, we are fully-geared up to meet growing demand, and looking forward to a great future ahead.”” Source: Massey Ferguson – 50-year production landmark at Beauvais plant
