AgGateway – Spearhead of Digital and Standardized Agriculture

Standardization is not a new word in our vocabulary. It goes all the way in ancient times, when emperors and kings tried to create common units of measurement. Later, during the Industrial Revolution, the standardized rail track presented itself as the strategic advantage during the Civil War.

US President Herbert Hoover was also known for his leadership in helping companies standardize their products to make them the same size.(1)  Regardless of that, here we are, in year 2018, still talking about the benefits of standardization in agriculture.

The explosion of product offerings we see in today’s agricultural landscape gives the customers the ability to choose the machine and/or smart ag products that best fit their needs. The only problem is that those systems do not always talk to each other. To maintain customers’ choice, it is important for agricultural companies to use and promote the usage of standardized data formats. That is possible through products like AgGateway ADAPT Framework. AGCO Corporation is one of the companies that are committed to support ADAPT.

During AgGateway’s annual conference in Austin, TX, North America industry leaders worked on important topics like traceability, food safety through implementation of block chain, and precision irrigation through data.

This year, AGCO’s Fuse® hosted the AgGateway Euopean meeting in Marktoberdorf, Germany and participated in the AgGateway LATAM.

AGCO Corporation is committed and supports the principles and AgGateway’s efforts and mission.

AgGateway Global Network organization’s mission is to promote and expand the implementation of eBusiness standards and guidelines in agriculture globally and this year, the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has named AgGateway’s ADAPT and ISOXML Plugin the winner of a 2019 AE50 award. AE50 awards honor the year’s most innovative designs in engineering products or systems for the food and agriculture industries.

Data standardization is becoming a frequent topic in agriculture. Fuse is committed to work with other industry players to create a solutions that will put the customers in the center, allowing them to select the machines, inputs and services that best fit their operation.
